Rohit John Chettri is a celebrated singer-songwriter and musician from Kathmandu, Nepal, known for soulful melodies and evocative lyrics. With a career spanning over a decade, he rose to prominence with his timeless hit "Bistarai Bistarai" in 2013, a song that cemented his place in the Nepali music scene. His music blends contemporary pop with influences from Hindustani classical, jazz, soul, and South Asian folk traditions, creating a unique sound bridging genres and cultures. A trained classical vocalist, he was the lead singer and guitarist of legendary Nepali rock band 1974 AD from 2014 to 2019, following Adrian Pradhan's departure. He has lent his voice to Nepali movies and performed the iconic song "Priyashi Ko Haatkelama" by Gopal Yonjon. Beyond performing, he is a mentor and educator, sharing his knowledge through vocal workshops at the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory, inspiring the next generation of Nepali musicians.
